Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and WhatsApp, allow its user to collect via real-time with each other no matter the time, place or occasion you have happening. These sites allow us to make new friends, share too much of our lives that shouldn’t be shared, follow and support important causes, get live updates such as traffic or MTA. Twitter, I found a little more changeling but only when I have, much to say and I am limited to a specific number of characters. But other than that, it is very engaging, and it allows you to have a discussion/debate on anything that catches your attention. WhatsApp is one of my favorites, I use it daily to communicate with anyone of my contacts. One feature that I really like and that drew my attention to it that I could call people from my home country and communicate in real time. Facebook is another great site for making ‘friends’ from all over the world. It allowed me to reconnect with my old High School friends an...
I think the instant chat room would be a great idea that way students and departments can answer and ask questions faster and more efficiently.
ReplyDeleteInstant chat rooms will definitely make our college lives a lot easier.
DeleteI also agree that the Instant Chat is a great way for a College and the students to communicate. It allows instant help for students that need it. For example, if a student were to have technical difficulties and were unable to log onto something, instant chat will help the student in getting their assignment done.
ReplyDeleteI agree the instant chat would be helpful. A while back for about two weeks I couldn’t log on to the school WIFI from my phone, but it worked on my computer.
DeleteThis is a great idea, especially with the large amount of people in Baruch, it can definitely alleviate some of the long lines and be beneficial on both ends! I hope this idea gets implemented :)
ReplyDeleteBaruch should be taking advantage of technology to make the lives of both faculty and students easier.
DeleteI love the Instant Chat idea. This can help speed up the process at each of the offices and work most efficiently. I often try calling or emailing the offices when I have a simple question and don't feel like waiting on line but they never answer. Hopefully this system would work better if implemented.
ReplyDeleteYes I agree sometimes our questions are not really difficult but rather simple. Instant Chat would be a great way to answer these questions at our convenience rather than holding or coming in school.
DeleteI totally agree with you on having an instant chat option to these offices, (all Baruch offices if possible). I myself have emailed the Bursar and it took days for a response. Every time I seem to call a Baruch office, there is absolutely no-one to pick up the phone. In my own daily life, I love the use of live chat. For example, whenever I need to speak to a customer service representative for a company, I always check on their website if they have a live chat option because it's just more convenient than having to call them.
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem again last week I emailed registrar office and am still waiting it has been over five days. It was a simple question regarding summer session and am still to get a response. Hopefully in the near future Instant Chat would be a normality at Baruch.
